Setting

The Squared Circle takes place in an alternate reality called The Wrestleverse where wrestling is a very real combat sport. The focus of the book revolves around a wrestling company called New Era Wrestling (NEW) which is the biggest wrestling promotion worldwide.

Players may also create their own wrestling promotions for their games.

The core rulebook is available in paperback and hardback forms. Three sourcebooks have been released: Lucha Libre, about wrestling in Mexico, Puroresu, about wrestling in Japan and The 80's about the early days of wrestling.

The Rise Of a Legend Adventure Series was also released on January 1, 2010, and is a solo adventure path that uses a format similar to the Choose Your Own Adventure books. Currently the adventure path is released monthly with each issue leading character(s) through one month of game time. There are currently six issues released and several different paths which allows for some limited replay value with new characters.
